Mission Statement
To act in a professional capacity, to provide a successful course of action to other organizations, private, governmental or volunteer, primarily in Burke County in the State of North Carolina in those matters regarding Emergency Services.
Assist in the protection of life, property and the environment through a partnership effort between local, state and volunteer agencies. To provide a successful course of action for the citizens of Burke County and traveling motorist to minimize risk in emergency situations.
Who We Are
Burke County REACT Team #3420 Inc. is a surboranate 501(C)(3) organization of REACT International, Inc. Our non-profit volunteer organization has a volunteer Board of Directors governed by Constitution and By-Laws which are reviewed annually and ratified or revised as needed. Our Board meets regularly, operates with a quorum, records minutes of all meetings, controls the fiscal affairs of the organization, including the development and adoption of an annual budget, written financial policies and procedures. The organization has a annual audit conducted by a certified public accountant and files a 990 with the IRS.
We are a Burke County United Way Agency and our organization has outlined its goal in a strategic plan. Each program has an annual operational plan with quantifiable objectives that specify the results to be achieved during the defined time period and a system in place to measure the progress on achieving results.
We have a highly dedicated and professional group of individuals that are sufficiently qualified by training, experience and job descriptions with minimum qualification exist for all members.
We have several members who have received the President’s Volunteer Service Awards from the White House in 2008 to recognize their outstanding contribution of volunteer hours of service.
